3 Must-Have Factors of a
Trucordia Leader
At Trucordia, we're continuously looking to find the right type of agencies that could join our team. These are some of the factors we consider as we look for strong agencies and leaders to join the Trucordia family, along with qualities you might consider when thinking about how to sell your insurance agency.
Top Qualities of a Trucordia Leader
Quality #1: The Intersection of Entrepreneurship and Teamwork
We look for great entrepreneurs—leaders who know how to grow with a fire in their belly; people who have demonstrated their ability to compete and shown above-average growth. We’re looking for committed, loyal teammates who’ve demonstrated proficiency in their skill sets. And we’re looking for people who have pride in their business; team members who wake up every morning because they want to be the best they can be, protect their legacy and serve their clients well.
The right agency leader is someone who lacks ego and is interested in being more than they can be on their own. We’re not looking to assemble a team of individual superstars; we need a group that works together. They can be superstars, but they must desire to work together like a team of superstars. They’re going to be excited about building industry practice groups and achieving better outcomes with all Trucordia has to offer, and they’re going to buy into and be motivated by the concept of being an equity partner and an owner of Trucordia.

Quality #2: A "No Jerk" Policy
Because we’re a people-centric organization, we get to know our leaders and team members, what drives them and what drives their business. When we add another agency to our organization, it’s not viewed merely as a transaction, but as a new member of the Trucordia family with a long and beneficial future ahead.
This type of philosophy translates into being very intentional when bringing in a new agency. Do they support the Trucordia business strategy? Do they have a strong track record of success? Are they highly entrepreneurial? Are they a fit with the Trucordia family? And most importantly, are they simply “good people”?
Quality #3: A Familiar Face
Our ideal contact would come through an existing team member as a referral. That’s where more than half of our new acquisitions originate, and we love that! It gives us a level of trust and familiarity that is important to us, and it gives our new team members an existing relationship, so they are comfortable coming in and integrating.
If the contact comes through a source other than a referral such as a banker or a broker, we always offer them the opportunity to speak with a few of our existing agency leaders so they can get a sense of what Trucordia is about.

Team-Driven Success
At Trucordia, we believe strongly in bringing in the right leadership and talent who has a passion and vision for taking our company to the next level. If you're considering selling your agency, it's important to know that we don’t press. We’re not a hard sell organization. We believe in what we’re doing, we think it’s unique, and we think it’s something that attracts the right people.
As a people-centric organization, the Trucordia business model is fueled by the fundamental belief that, through collaboration, our leaders and team members can focus on what they do best, knowing there is a support network of skilled professionals bringing forth industry knowledge and experience to provide world-class benefits design, insurance, and risk management services.
